About Us

We’re Karen and Bre Roberts, a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo who started basket weaving together in the fall of 2025. Our journey began with a willow basketry workshop in Antigonish, NS. Karen had always been interested in basket weaving and was the one who sparked the interest in Bre.

After taking that first class, we were hooked. We’ve since taken a few more workshops in Antigonish and have continued learning and experimenting on our own. We’ve branched out from willow into reed and enjoy working with materials we can forage locally.

We’ve also started growing our own willow, which has made the whole process even more rewarding. There’s something special about being able to grow, gather, and prepare materials before turning them into a basket.

What started as a class we took together has turned into something we really enjoy doing side by side. We’re still learning, trying new things, and having fun along the way - thank you for following us along on our weaving journey!
